Our Legal Clinics include:

The Small Business Legal Clinic, the mission of which is to foster economic development in disadvantaged neighborhoods and to aid low- and middle-income individuals by assisting in creating and sustaining small businesses in the Bronx.

The Clinic partners with Bingham McCutchen to provide free legal advice and referral services to low-income entrepreneurs and small business owners. Clinic attorneys can help you decide whether or not to incorporate, and will answer questions about contracts, lawsuits, commercial leases, intellectual property rights, and taxes.

To schedule a Small Business Legal Clinic intake appointment, please complete this online request for assistance. Once you submit your completed request for assistance, you can expect to hear from us within 3 business days regarding next steps.

Start Small has also partnered with the Business Outreach Center Network to offer "Childcare Means Business," a 55-hour/11-week training program for home-based childcare providers. "Childcare Means Business" is a training opportunity offered as a part of the Business Opportunity Center Network's Childcare Business Development Project, which helps home-based childcare providers develop and enhance their businesses. The Consumer Debt Legal Clinic (identity theft, frozen bank account/garnished wages, consumer debt judgments, credit reporting errors/disputes, debt collection harassment/general problems with creditors, student loans, medical debt) (*COMING SOON*)

The Bankruptcy Clinic (for individuals in serious financial difficulty contemplating filing for bankruptcy and individuals otherwise involved in a bankruptcy case) (*COMING SOON*)
