The personal care market is growing – and you’re looking to make a mark with your product, whether it be a topical product, aromatherapy, tincture or beauty device. This workshop will focus on the regulatory requirements you should consider before bringing a personal care product to market. We will discuss Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory obligations related to product formulation, authorizations, ingredient safety, quality obligations, as well as permissible and non-permissible advertising and labeling claims. On the advertising side, we will go through requirements from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), state regulators related to adequately substantiating any marketing claims, and potential false advertising litigation issues. Finally, with respect to manufacturing and quality, we will touch on FDA’s new federal law, MOCRA, related to the registration of cosmetic facilities
