He offers authentic dishes that bring nostalgia to Nicaraguans in the Bay Area. He is currently operating from his home as he needs help reviewing contracts for commercial kitchens.

The Teff Lab (Teff Bar)

While attending college, Surafel discovered and became fascinated with his Ethiopian background. Instead of getting a corporate job, he wanted to support the sustainable agricultural industry in Ethiopia and tell the story of the Ethiopian grain as a native. He is confident that in the long term his business would be able to attract public attention to the Ethiopian grain and culture.

Simone's Sweet Treasures

Tanis has been baking since she was a teenager and when she began experimenting with her mother's cheesecake recipe, she decided to make a business out of it. Her cheesecakes come in different sizes including cupcake sized, and the flavors and toppings are customizable. Each dessert comes with an affirmation to go with the sweet treat, to remind customers to treat themselves. While she is currently selling wholesale to markets and stores, she hopes to expand her retail and shipping operation as well.

Ashlee was working as corporate transactional attorney when her family led her to uncover her true passion for cooking and healthy eating education. When her young son told her he'd decided to become a vegetarian, Ashlee began collecting and developing her own recipes, full of flavor, vitamin rich, and balanced. She moved away from practicing law and in 2019, collected her insight into an e-book. Ashlee has been working full time in the business, focusing on bringing vegan soul and comfort food recipes to her growing audience.

LMNOP Bakery

Anne started baking bread out of her home in 2015 until March of 2020 when she became a baker in residence at Mass Chocolate. Her bakery uses super local grains that make you feel good when you eat them. She has the full support of the local community and plans to scale the business and move into her own space in the very near future.

Jabari leverages the latest research in nutrition and pharmacology to create food that gives your brain and body everything they need to operate at their best. Each of his snacks contains a unique combination of natural superfoods and high quality supplements that serve a purpose: more energy for workouts, better focus at work, improved joint health, and quicker recovery. He hopes to secure a commercial kitchen soon, and aspires to start selling via Amazon as he increases his production capacity.

Luquana uses the time-tested family-recipes that she learned as a child and all natural ingredients to make cakes, cupcakes, cookies and cake pops to order. With no formal culinary training, she began combining her love of baking with her natural sense of style to make one of a kind desserts for her two kids, family, and friends. Eddie makes a little piece of Haiti available to foodies and Haitian culture enthusiasts everywhere by selling Haitian treats and cookies online. After an annual trip home, she realized that the traditional treats she grew up on were not as readily available as they once were, and had been replaced by packaged cookies and candies. Her mission is to bring economic and professional growth to communities throughout Haiti by providing an online marketplace for makers based in Haiti to sell their products to larger markets like the US and Canada.
