The Economic Justice team runs the Legal Services for Entrepreneurs (LSE). Which provides free legal services to low-income individuals who want to start or develop businesses; businesses committed to investing in economically distressed communities, including hiring people with arrest and conviction records; and mom and pop shops located in areas where gentrification is a force for displacement.

For the growth-ready entrepreneur, NYPACE connects you with a team of impact-driven mentors to address your specific business needs with implementable solutions over the course of an 8-week program, all at no cost to you.

During the program, NYPACE creates a customized work plan to address your specific growth goals. We then match you with a team who will support your business in the areas of financial analysis, business planning, strategic planning, operational efficiencies, fundraising, or marketing.

Queens Public Library

This FREE program will help Queensbridge entrepreneurs transform their ideas from concept to reality over the course of 10 weeks through weekly workshops, one-on-one assistance, peer support groups, and much more. Upon completion of the program, all entrepreneurs will be eligible to participate in a competition to win up to $5,000 for their business. Apply Here

Troutman Pepper

Troutman Pepper SEED’s holistic approach combines the resources of an experienced, multi-disciplinary team into an affordable package for startups and early-stage companies that are accepted into the program. The unique, deeply discounted program includes a nominal entry fee, a full suite of essential basic legal documents, effective legal counseling, and, for no additional charge, mentoring in areas such as board development and management, business plan review, and investor relations.

New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)

The New York State SBDC offers free counseling to any New Yorker hoping to start or grow a small business. The SBDC also offers a host of programs designed for specific groups of entrepreneurs or focusing on particular business needs.

The EntreSkills™ team’s primary objective is to facilitate, sponsor, and develop tools, aids, and models of entrepreneurial instruction. The team has developed an online training course in entrepreneurship for New York high schools and colleges. There are also versions available for NY SBDC clients, including a version just for military veterans.

Hot Bread Kitchen (HBK)

TURN YOUR FOOD BUSINESS IDEA INTO A REALITY.
Hot Bread Kitchen’s Prep for Success program offers critical knowledge on business financials, marketing, strategic planning, customer service, and generating sales.

This 4-week course will guide a small group of women entrepreneurs in various stages of business development in the fundamentals of establishing a successful and sustainable small business. The course will conclude with a “Pitch Day” held at our offices in Manhattan’s Chelsea Market.

Harlem CDC

Business Services
Harlem CDC’s Business Services programs provide tools, including technical and financial assistance and skills training, to local entrepreneurs to start and grow small businesses.

Harlem CDC’s Satellite MWBE Certification Center provides support to local businesses seeking NYS MWBE certification.
