Of note, the list flags where a grant program may be targeted at specific historically disadvantaged groups including e.g. Black, Immigrant, Person of Color, or Woman owned businesses.

The Actors Fund

Our emergency financial assistance program provides temporary financial assistance to those with documented financial need due to unforeseen circumstances.

Once we receive your application, a social services team member will get in touch with you to assess eligibility, discuss your particular situation and financial need, help develop a plan of action, and if helpful, connect you to community resources.

The Jersey City Fund

The Jersey City Fund offers $25,000 - $250,000 SBA Community Advantage Loans for start-ups, early stage and mature businesses. The loan may be used for a range of purposes including purchasing new equipment, increasing inventory, hiring new workers, refinancing and more.

The New York Small Business Development Center (NYSBDC)

NYSBDC is a partnership program with the US Small Business Administration, and administered by the State University of New York. Small business owners can make appointments with advisors who can help business owners review and answer questions on loan and grant applications, developing business continuity plans, and many other business-related challenges.

Tory Burch Foundation Fellows Program

Applications are open for the Tory Burch Foundation Fellows Program! Fifty women entrepreneurs will receive yearlong digital education, access to an incredible community of founders and advisors, a $5,000 education grant and access to no-interest loans.

  • A woman entrepreneur who owns the largest or equal stake in a qualifying business that is majority (51% or more) owned and controlled by women
  • 21 years or older as of the application due date, November 3, 2022
  • Proficient in English
  • A legal resident of the United States and its territories

Business Criteria:

  • For profit, from any industry
  • Early-stage (one to five years of operations preferred)
  • Generating revenues (minimum of $75,000 strongly preferred)
  • Formed under United States law and operating in the United States and its territories
