The BPAP program helps to preserve DC’s culturally vital small businesses and avoid displacement as neighborhoods gentrify across the District. BPAP explores innovative strategies through piloting projects to develop replicable solutions to rapidly gentrifying urban neighborhoods across the country (i.e. landlord-tenant mediation; mixed use developments, etc).

District Bridges

Programa de acceso a capital. Apoya a las empresas de habla hispana con una evaluación comercial financiera, el desarrollo del plan comercial y el apoyo para identificar y solicitar oportunidades de financiamiento.
Capital Access Program. Supports Spanish-speaking businesses with a Financial Business Assessment, Business Plan development, and support with identifying and applying for funding opportunities.

DC Bar Pro Bono Center

Small Business Brief Advice Legal Clinic. The District of Columbia Bar Pro Bono Center provides brief legal information to small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs who operate in economically disadvantaged areas or who have limited financial resources. The clinics provide current and aspiring business owners with an opportunity to speak with an attorney one-on-one. Volunteer attorneys help review legal documents and answer questions about starting a business, taxation, real estate leases, employment law, and other legal issues common to small business owners.

Coalition for Nonprofit Housing and Economic Development (CNHED)

CNHED created the Guide to Small Business Financing to help small business owners in Washington, DC navigate the various local lenders (i.e., financial institutions including banks, CDFIs, MFIs) and loan products to find the best financing option for their business. There is a wealth of information on lenders and loan products available to support small businesses, and this guide aims to consolidate that information and provide key tips on how small businesses owners can research, compare, and apply for these financial resources.
