Hot Bread Kitchen’s Prep for Success program offers critical knowledge on business financials, marketing, strategic planning, customer service, and generating sales.

This 4-week course will guide a small group of women entrepreneurs in various stages of business development in the fundamentals of establishing a successful and sustainable small business. The course will conclude with a “Pitch Day” held at our offices in Manhattan’s Chelsea Market.

SMALL BUSINESS SUPPORT
We highlight our area small businesses throughout all our programming, plus in our weekly newsletter, and on our social media and website.

We host regular merchant meetings and trainings on topics ranging from social media to financing to registering as MWBEs.

Each Saturday after Thanksgiving, we celebrate Small Business Saturday with special discounts at our small businesses. We use this day every year to tell the story of our small businesses and explain all that they mean to our neighborhood.

Harlem CDC (Community Development)

Harlem CDC’s Community Development programs provide information, technical and skills training to community-based organizations and individuals seeking to create independent projects and initiatives which support further investment in Upper Manhattan.
CERSP Grant Program
The CERSP Grant Program provides financial assistance for initiatives and events that advance HCDC’s mission.
Weatherization Assistance Program
The Weatherization Assistance Program reduces energy usage costs for low- income families in single family homes and multi-unit developments.

Harlem CDC’s Satellite MWBE Certification Center provides support to local businesses seeking NYS MWBE certification.

Cardozo School of Law

The Tech Startup Clinic provides high-potential startups pro bono legal services. The clinic guides startups through entity formation, funding questions, intellectual property issues, commercialization strategies, and operational and employment matters.
