Stevonne is the founder of an organic skin and haircare company that was the first American beauty line to include fair trade, nutrient rich botanicals ingredients from Brazil. She suffered from a number of skin sensitivities, and at that time, there were very few natural skincare solutions for women of color, so Stevonne crafted her own products. This year she has pivoted to selling all products online, and hopes to continue expanding her brand as a lifestyle brand. Over the years her shop has supported and collaborated with 100+ independent artists, artisans and makers.

The Laundry Basket LLC

Hyacinth offers an affordable, on-demand mobile laundry and dry cleaning delivery service to the Greater DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia areas. She works with local and trusted laundromats, dry cleaners and tailors and ensures that all clothes come back looking and smelling great! Hyacinth is proud to own a woman, minority and veteran-owned company. She offers a one-stop-shop: she will wash, dry and fold your garments and then neatly package them and deliver them. She hopes to give her clients at least four hours back a week with the time she saves by taking care of their laundry.

Caprakhan

Callie has been teaching ancestral living skills for over a decade and is very passionate about educating others on how to take care of themselves using the natural resources around them, and how to be self sufficient in nature. Her platform grew after going on the show "Alone," and through her business she continues to provide outdoor education and experiences, especially for women, through the sharing of ancestral skills, in order to connect people with themselves, each other, and the natural world

Juliana Wong

Juliana (Juju) is an educational consultant helping both students and schools with the college admissions process. In addition to 1-1 consulting, Juju has created curriculums to assist first-generation, immigrant, and BIPOC communities apply to college. Her programming is scalable and community-oriented, compared to other more competitive college admissions programs. Juju hopes to hone in on her most lucrative services and being contracted by other schools / educational programs to create curriculum + inclusive programming.

Reflecting Equity

Christiane has long been aware of the lack of diversity and equity within STEM, and through her own firsthand experiences, was inspired to launch her business to help organizations foster inclusion and develop equitable policies and practices within their workplace. Her business works with clients to develop a plan for improving their culture that is tailored to their specific needs. She prides herself in offering an approach which is data-driven, with proven results.

Sandbox Bakeshop

Lisa left her nonprofit job right before the pandemic to focus on her baking business and hone her baking skills. She was ultimately able to get a job at a coffee shop and began making all of their in house pastries, as well as selling to family and friends. Her network has since expanded, and she offers a curated monthly menu incorporating seasonal ingredients, selling baked goods wholesale to local coffee shops and directly to individuals as well.

My Beautiful Fluff

Brittany designs clothing with curves in mind. Her goal is to empower, motivate and encourage women to love themselves as they are. She sells shirts, hoodies and crewnecks from sizes L to 5XL, as well as other merchandise and accessories with messaging that encourages body positivity. With goals to grow and expand, Brittany is currently launching a storefront and a new line with even larger sizing in alignment with her mission of inclusivity.

The Coquito Plug

Penelope has an e-commerce business selling coquitos in Queens. Coquitos is a Caribbean coconut-based holiday beverage, but she sells her product year round. Penelope is looking to gain capital and boost sales in order to increase revenue and open up a pop-up shop/experience in NYC.

Kahenmei

With the rise of Asian hate crimes, Kylie decided to leave her job to pursue her business full time, which is the first better-for-you Asian baking products. Her ingredients are high quality, and she takes care to source ingredients sustainably. She currently has flavors such as sesame and matcha, and demand for her products has taken off.
